Can you smell the knowledge?

With ever more popular fiction in the fantasy genre following in the foot steps of Lewis Carroll, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis and JK Rowling the Bodleian libraries are an ever more essential stop on any tour of Oxford.

Lately the Discovery of Witches has a vampire called Matthew (at All Souls) meeting the love of his several lives at the Bod.

In itself the Bodleian library is a profoundly worthwhile detour to make in Oxford, especially for book lovers.

Bodleian staff and Green Badge guide Jess’ tour was described at â€śFantastique” It is.

In the high season daily tickets to tour Duke Humphrey’s library book up rapidly.

If you really want to catch a tour inside the Bodleian Library you have to be on the ball. 20% of the tickets are made available online about one month in advance.

However if you miss the online availability all is not lost.

80% of tickets are held back for sale on the day.

In the morning you will see a queue to join on the Weston Library steps waiting it’s opening time.

There are a number of options and this summer for July and August additional tours inside the Radcliffe Camera were also made available.

We can organise advance bookings for groups of up to 14 as part of your Oxford experience and adapt any listed tours to include a visit to the fabulous Duke Humphrey Library.
